Celebrate The Gov and Veterans Day!

November 8, 2018

Celebrate Denver’s cutting-edge aerospace scene with the man who helped make it possible. Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum will honor Governor John Hickenlooper tonight. Plus, it’s Veterans Day weekend! Denver goes all out to show its appreciation of veterans with a parade, festival and a 5K/10K run. John Hickenlooper is known for many things: Mayor of Denver, beer entrepreneur, current Governor of Colorado—but did you know he is also a champion of space? Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is honoring his many contributions to the national aerospace scene at their Spreading Wings Gala, an annual event celebrating those with an up-and-away vision for the future!

As governor, Hickenlooper has helped to initiate dozens of critical aerospace projects in Colorado, and along with Harrison Ford, Governor Hickenlooper is the honorary co-chair for Wings Over the Rockies’ Wingspan fundraising campaign, which recently opened Wings’ second location, Exploration of Flight, in Centennial!
