GALA HONORING GOV. HICKENLOOPER
John Hickenlooper is known for many things: Mayor of Denver, beer entrepreneur, current Governor of Colorado—but did you know he is also a champion of space? Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is honoring his many contributions to the national aerospace scene at their Spreading Wings Gala, an annual event celebrating those with an up-and-away vision for the future!

As governor, Hickenlooper has helped to initiate dozens of critical aerospace projects in Colorado, and along with Harrison Ford, Governor Hickenlooper is the honorary co-chair for Wings Over the Rockies’ Wingspan fundraising campaign, which recently opened Wings’ second location, Exploration of Flight, in Centennial!

STREET STYLE FASHION SHOW

KIDS’ NIGHT OUT SUPER HEROES
Super heroes rule—and your kids do, too, at the Southshore’s YMCA Kids’ Night Out! Not only do the kids have a fun night out that includes a movie, dinner and crafts, but you can relax knowing they are safe and well cared for. And you may even use the time for a parents’ night out of your own! Friday’s movie, The Incredibles, follows a super-hero family who are leading very ho-hum lives until Mr. Incredible is summoned to an island to battle an out-of-control robot. Soon, Mr. Incredible is in trouble and it’s up to his family to save him! Children must be potty-trained in order to attend, and registration for the event is required.

With a rich voice as full of life as she is, Anna High is a cabaret singer who knows how to belt it out. High has been dazzling audiences and garnering critical acclaim with roles such as Serena in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Hattie McDaniel in Hi-Hat Hattie. VETERANS DAY PARADE
Show your respect and support of local veterans and brush up on military history at the same time! The Denver Veterans Day parade is organized into serials that represent different periods of military history: Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII. 

Each serial representation will feature military memorabilia from that era, such as old uniforms, vehicles, and weapons. Members of participating veterans’ organizations will march together to showcase their organizations’ historical roots in these eras. Come out to cheer on these marching units, as well as floats, car clubs, bands and more!

VETERANS DAY FESTIVAL
Veterans Day festivities continue after the parade at a FREE celebration in Civic Center Park! This family-friendly event features a stage with live music as well as activities for kids and the entire family! Military displays, vendors, and Denver’s best food trucks will be on hand! 

The highlight of the festival is a display of vintage and modern military vehicles, where you can pose for pictures! Thank a veteran in attendance and celebrate with the men and women who have fought to ensure our freedoms.

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL DESIGNER SHOW
Denver Fashion Week brings in national and international designers for a show that features top designers in the fashion industry from all over the world—from Australia to New York to California. If you’re curious as to see what the fashion is like at fashion shows from around the world, this night is one you won’t want to miss.

Local boutique, Garbarini will present renowned designers, some making their DFW debut and some returning from last year. The night opens with a Red Carpet Cocktail Reception before the Designers Show.

LETTUCE AT THE SYMPHONY

VETERANS DAY RUN 5K/10K
This memorial 5K and 10K run is Denver’s official run for veterans, but it’s a fun run open to runners, joggers, and walkers of all ages—including kids! Even dogs are welcome! ALL proceeds of your registration (and donations!) go directly to helping Colorado veterans. The Denver Veterans Day Run is hosted by Colorado Veterans Project, a nonprofit organization that hosts special events in order to raise awareness and funds for local veteran organizations.

VIENNA BOYS CHOIR
This world-famous choir has been delighting audiences for over seven centuries! The founding year of the first Vienna Boys Choir was 1498, and until 1918, the Choir sang exclusively at the Viennese court.

Fortunately for us, the current group of 100 boys tours all over the world. The boys range in age from 10 to 14 and hail from dozens of nations. You can be inspired by the heavenly sounds of their vocals when they perform together with the Colorado Symphony!

THE ICONIC HAIR SHOW
Fans of Denver Fashion Week know the best thing about it is the Hair Show! Don’t miss the surprises that appear before your eyes when Denver’s top stylists come together with the DFW award-winning production team to put on the show that’s sure to turn heads. In previous years, the show has included choreographed productions, set pieces that towered over 10 feet tall, and models having their hair cut live on stage!
