It will be an exciting weekend for all things aerial at Denver’s very own Air & Space Museum—Wings Over the Rockies! To celebrate Orville Wright’s birthday, enjoy discounted entry tickets and exciting contests with cool prizes. Make and fly your own paper airplane! Take a photo of yourself in front of your favorite airplane and be eligible to win a ride in a Boeing Stearman! Don’t miss out on the fun!


Let your kids get out and mingle in a safe and fun atmosphere with other kids ages 2-6! Southlands’ YMCA is the place to meet for a morning of story time and games. Group size is limited to 10 kids, so sign up in advance to reserve your spot!

This fun FREE socially-distanced event is family-friendly and gives everyone a chance to get outside and dance! DJ Wesley Barnes of Something Vinyl Club will be spinning tunes and giving off lots of good vibes on the West Patio of Stanley Marketplace every Thursday night for the rest of the summer!

Look for the two big tents—one over a grassy lawn and the other over spaced-out Backyard at Stanley red spools. Be sure to keep your family or group distanced from other groups and wear a mask when you are up from your seat.

Denver Botanic Gardens offers a refreshing version of yoga with a twist. Take your practice to a new level out in nature, accompanied by live violin music! Certified yoga instructor and Gardens horticulturist leads an hour-long class in the Botanic Gardens. Bring your own picnic, as well as wine or beer, to enjoy the music performance afterwards.

What could be more fun than combining LEGOs and wild animals? Check out this very special exhibit at Denver Zoo—Nature Connects® Art with LEGO® Bricks, featuring more than 15 nature-inspired creations by artist Sean Kenney!

The life-size and larger-than-life plant and animal sculptures—including a snow leopard, black rhino, African lion, and polar bear with her three cubs—took almost 1 million LEGO bricks to create! See these special sculptures placed throughout the Zoo. Bet you can’t tell them apart from the real animals!

National Aviation Day is celebrated this weekend to promote all things aviation and falls on the anniversary of Orville Wright’s birthday. Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum will be offering discounted admission, as well as fun contests and prizes for all ages! Admission discounts are $2-$3 off per ticket this weekend!

The super-cool Photo Contest gives you a chance to win a flight in a Boeing Stearman aircraft! Just post a photo of yourself next to your favorite aircraft at either Wings Over the Rockies location on Instagram or Facebook.  Another fun contest gives you a chance to fold and fly your best paper airplane in the Paper Airplane Contest! There will be a winner in both youth and adult categories!

The Denver Center for Performing Arts is the Mile High City’s resident expert on everything theatrical, and while their venues may be temporarily closed, that doesn’t mean local theater has stopped. DCPA has just launched their fall schedule for a host of exciting online education programs!

From Shakespeare to Halloween Hijinks for pre-schoolers, Fairy Tales for early elementary kids, and Acting Labs for third-graders and up, kids are sure to find a class they’re interested in. For older kids and teens, there are workshops in Theatrical Makeup, Musical Madness, Improv Extravaganza, Art of Auditioning, Acting for the Camera, and much more!

It’s not just a social movement—there’s also a brewery movement featuring Black is Beautiful! Your local brewery in Aurora will be releasing their own version of the imperial stout, along with a socially-distanced Latin Dance class out on the patio! Proceeds from the donation-based dance class will go to the Equal Justice Initiative.

Black Is Beautiful is a collaborative effort among craft breweries across the United States to raise awareness for the injustices that people of color face daily and raise funds for police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged.

For four years running, Lucha Libre & Laughs has been named the Best Comedy Night in Denver by Westword. A crazy combination of pro-wrestling and stand-up comedy come together for one great LIVE show!

Denver’s Oriental Theater brings you these intimate performances through their Safe Sound Series. These shows are allowed audiences of no more than 50 people, but it’s LIVE entertainment again at a time when there’s not much of it. Mask-wearing and social distancing are mandatory.
