Maybe you are as tired of hearing about “silver linings” as you are the coronavirus itself, but considering this is where we live right now, it’s pretty amazing to think about all the big-name entertainment we’re getting right now in our living rooms. Billboard is constantly updating their schedule of HUGE live events—including an upcoming Graduation 2020 Commencement Speech by President Obama and Lady Gaga! We’ve included Billboard’s listings for this weekend, along with local happenings.

RED NOSE DAY CONCERT
Red Nose Day has been an annual event by big-name entertainers to end child poverty. This year, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, OneRepublic, Ellie Goulding, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, Sam Smith, James Taylor, Meghan Trainor, and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical‘s Adrienne Warren are all set to perform in your living room!

Tune in for an action-packed, three-hour block of Red Nose Day programming, including a spectacular episode of Celebrity Escape Room featuring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Adam Scott, and more!

BOTANIC GARDENS AT-HOME
Denver Botanic Gardens has become a part of the newfound interest in reading by  leading a virtual book club with literature inspired by nature. Join now to be ready to join the Zoom discussion on June 17th. The book you’ll be reading is As Long as the Grass Grows: The Indigenous Fight for Environmental Justice, from Colonization to Standing Rock by Dina Gilio-Whitaker.

DOING STREET ART WITH A COMEDIAN
Join Denver native Christie Buchele in the YouTube series, Comedians Doing Stuff in Denver, as she paints a mural with local artist Thomas “Detour” Evans. Christie asks all the hard questions, including is he really Banksy?—and gets a tour of Evans’ other River North Art District murals. You’ll learn the backstories of his subjects, from famous musicians like Nina Simone (whose face adorns a wall at Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club) to local community members.

This transformational online two-day festival will explore pathways for a brighter future with inspiring and talented musicians, Michael Franti, Nahko, John Butler, Trevor Hall, FINK, Rising Appalachia and more! The international lineup also includes other notable musicians, artists, motivational speakers, Indigenous elders, wellness experts, yoga instructors, youth activists and poets. 

Donations made during the festival will benefit Proof of Impact, a charitable organization providing COVID-19 relief efforts, as well as the artists involved with One Earth Live who are unable to tour because of the pandemic.

The iconic Detroit musical festival which usually takes place over Memorial Day weekend will be live-streamed this year in a fantastic 3-day virtual edition! NATIONAL SCAVENGER HUNT DAY
Be a part of this global event—from home—and help break the record for the World’s Largest Scavenger Hunt Ever! NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT
This traditional concert normally airs from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol but will be a virtual event this year. The PBS concert is hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise and features new performances and tributes filmed around the country to honor the military as well as heroes on the frontline of the pandemic crisis. 

Among those appearing will be Gen. Colin Powell, Cynthia Erivo, Renee Fleming, Trace Adkins, CeCe Winans, Kelli O’Hara, Mary McCormack, the National Symphony Orchestra, Christopher Jackson, Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne and Esai Morales. Starting at 8 p.m. ET, the concert will stream on Facebook, YouTube and on PBS.

Plenty to Do Near Southshore!
