Entertainment R us! Just in time for the weekend, a catalogue of fun events in and around your lakeside community in Aurora. From a quilting convention and thrilling new comedy-drama, to an enormous flea market and mind-blowing DaVinci exhibition – the list is growing just like the length of spring days in Southshore!

QUILT, CRAFT AND SEW BUFFS
A wide variety of sewing, quilting, needle-art and craft supply exhibits from many quality local and national companies will be on display for three days in Denver. Exhibitor seminars will help you find projects for your stash and at least three Make and Take workshops are designed for quickie projects you can learn on the spot. Register to win a new Disney sewing and embroidery machine and over $1,000 worth of other prizes.

CULTURE CLASH
Written by David Henry Hwang, the Tony and Obie Award-winning writer of M. Butterfly, this entertaining comedy is about the challenges of doing business in a country with language and underlying cultural assumptions that are worlds apart. It’s the Far East vs.  the Midwest as Daniel, an American businessman, who hopes to establish his family’s sign-making business in China. Through a comic exchange, he learns what is lost and found in translation.

HEROCLIX TOURNAMENT
This HeroClix tournament is all about the collectible miniatures game that uses the Clix system centered around the world of superhero comic books, especially Marvel and DC Comics. If you don’t have your own collection, the library will have pre-made teams you can play with and they’ll even be giving some away! For fourth through eighth graders.

entertainmentTHE ARCHITECT OF FLIGHT
Wings Over the Rockies will premiere the exciting DaVinci Machines Exhibition with displays of over 65 hand-crafted inventions built from Leonardo DaVinci’s 500-year-old designs. The magnificent machines on display, many of which are interactive, feature replicas of the major and most striking inventions of the original Renaissance Man.

Visitors will also find many of DaVinci’s masterpieces remastered for an up close and personal look at the greatest genius entertainmentof all time. The exhibit also features a 45-minute film, an interactive kids’ area and guided tours, with officially-licensed copies of the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. During the first-look on April 1, guests can listen to audio tours, enjoy cocktails, appetizers and much more. The two-hour (with intermission) performance of “DaVinci & Michelangelo: The Titans Experience” showcases the amazing similarities between Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo in an entertaining evening for all ages!

Learn to build and fly your own Tiny Whoop miniature FPV (First Person View) drone in this four-week class! Able to fit in the palm of your hand, the mini-drone gives you a pilot’s-eye view with goggles that show exactly where you’re flying. Once you fine-tune your skills, practice on the race course that will be set up in the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum hangar which includes lighted gates and pylons!
