INTO THE WOODS
This is the classic Sondheim musical that pays homage to the power of believing in a dream! In typical fairytale fashion, the story opens with a childless couple yearning to start a family, who discover a host of fantastic characters seeking to fulfill their own wishes and dreams. There are princes and princesses trying to find love, a witch trying to reclaim youth and beauty, and families trying to put food on the table. As they venture deeper into the woods, they discover the realities of life, as well as unexpected consequences.
Winner of five Tony Awards including Best Original Score (1988) and Best Revival of a Musical (2002), this magical musical reminds us that life is an unpredictable journey— “to mind, to heed, to find, to think, to teach, to join”—and that no one is alone.
