TEEN SEWING CLASS
Does your teenager want to learn how to sew? All you need is a working sewing machine; this six-week class will handle the rest. Geared for teens ages 12 to 18, the class starts today with basic stitches for hemming and repairing clothes, etc. Instructors will also help students make a simple project.

SOUNDS OF SOUTHLANDS: Under a Blood Red Sky
This acclaimed U2 tribute band passionately recreates the music of the beloved, award-winning Irish rock band. Covering tunes like With or Without You, In the Name of Love, and Sunday Bloody Sunday, this is the only U2 tribute band to have played Red Rocks to 9,000 fans. Come sing and sway and stomp to Under a Blood Red Sky!

AURORA SUMMER CONCERT SERIES: Hazel Miller
Hazel Miller’s jazzy R&B style has made her a sought-after performer in the region for 24 years. Miller, a gifted singer, has opened for Herbie Hancock, James Taylor and Michael McDonald and performed at every major jazz festival in Colorado. Enjoy a Subway meal while you listen to the soulful artistry of Hazel Miller.

OUTDOOR SUMMER FILM SERIES
Calling all Spielberg junkies! If you’re willing to venture beyond the neighborhood, join your fellow shark fans for a showing of Jaws on the front lawn of the Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. with live music entertainment until the film starts at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs and your blankets; sandwiches and drinks will be available for sale with proceeds benefitting the theatre restoration.

ADMISSION: $5 suggested donation

Saturday, July 9

GAME NIGHT AT THE Y!
Are your kids in search of new things to do on Saturday nights? For an evening of movies, fun and games bring them to the YMCA Teen Center at Southlands. Located on the NW corner of Main Street and E. Commons Avenue in Suite 220, young people aged 6 to 15 can play Ping-Pong, board games or watch movies in the movie room from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

KIDS’ NIGHT OUT!
You deserve a break today – and so do your kids! Drop the wee ones off at The Lakehouse next Friday, July 15, for dinner and games, plus a showing of Disney’s The Lion King in the Lakehouse theater. Register by Wednesday, July 13th here for the movie night on July 15.
