Chris Daniels and the Kings have toured their way through two continents and appeared with the likes of B.B. King, Blues Traveler, The Neville Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Robert Cray and Bonnie Raitt. The group features Freddi Gowdy (of Freddi Henchi and the Soul Setters) and plays enough rock, soul and funky blues to get your blood pumpin’ while you throw down some L & L Hawaiian BBQ!

SOUNDS OF SOUTHLANDS: Wash Park
Get down tonight with Colorado’s 13-piece music sensation, Wash Park. This high-energy group of artists is a virtual dancing machine that performs funk, Motown, disco, R&B and more. Their song list includes hits from Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, Sly and the Family Stone, The Gap Band and Bruno Mars! You’ll have a hard time NOT moving to the beat of 13 talented musicians.

SPLISH SPLASH, IT’S A BIRTHDAY BASH!
If your weekend plans include time on the water, don’t miss this opportunity for free admission to the lake in your backyard as we celebrate the 25th birthday of the Aurora Reservoir – all day long! Join the crowd for beach games, free hot dogs, stand up paddle-boarding classes, Fishing with a Ranger and more. Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and bikes will be available to rent, and beer and wine will be on sale, too.

Remember Hairspray? In 1960s Baltimore, dance-loving Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) auditions for a spot on The Corny Collins Show and wins! The teen becomes an overnight celebrity and a trendsetter in dance, fun and fashion. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the film starts at dusk, so bring your lawn chairs and your blankets to the front lawn of the Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre. Sandwiches and drinks are available for sale with proceeds benefiting the theatre restoration.

THAT’S HOW WE ROLL!
Sunday nights at Skate City Aurora is Family Night with free pizza! Roller-skating is great exercise and fun for the entire family. If you need a refresher, there are plenty of classes for all ages including Pixie Classes (for ages 2 to 6) and Speed Skating for older children. Check out the special event nights (and costs) for teens, adults and inline hockey players here.

Tuesday, July 26:

COME ON AND TAKE A FREE RIDE!
Wakeboarding is a combination of water skiing, snowboarding and surfing. Have you tried it? Do it now, with free lessons and rides every Tuesday through August. Action Water Sports will be at The Marina at Cherry Creek Reservoir on the north docks offering free wakeboard lessons from 12:00-4:00 p.m. and free rides and pulls from 4:00 p.m. to dusk.

SUMMER FUN FOR EVERYONE!
Summer In The City is a free weekly event offering three hours of entertainment for children and adults. Enjoy huge inflatable slides, water features and bouncy castles plus the Info2Go van and Mobile Playground offer crafts, games and toys. Plus, drinks and snacks are available for the asking!

MOVIES ON THE SQUARE: The Peanuts Movie
Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut in state-of-the-art 3-D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic quest, while his best pal, Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-enemy, the Red Baron.
