Indoor/Outdoor Christmas Décor!
November 29, 2016
With Thanksgiving behind us, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas with offers and ideas for holiday décor exploding on magazine covers, TV shows and the internet.
We scoured some go-to sites for fun Pinterest pages with sensational centerpiece inspiration, as well as tutorials for dazzling DIY indoor and outdoor projects to make your new home at Southshore merry and bright!
GLITTER AND GLAM
HGTV.com offers 25 ways to deck the halls this holiday season with everything from mantel banners and gold-dipped table settings to themed holiday décor.
Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn have “starlit” trees and wreaths, sparkly ornaments and table decorations, plus stockings and throw pillows and lots of glitter and glam trimming.
ORNAMENT IDEAS
These unique ornaments from Little Gray Fox start with clear glass ornaments (like these from Target), filled with everything from fake snow and feathers, to paint and rainbow sprinkles!
Or, if you have old CDs laying around, here’s a creative mosaic project from cremedelacraft.com that takes pieces of the reflective, shiny plastic and glues them to the glass. Also on this site are a few fun DIY gifts and gift-wrapping ideas.
And for kids, these paper bulb ornaments from rustandsunshine.com are easy to make and limited only by the craft papers they choose!
CENTERPIECE SENSATIONS
In Colorado, you can almost make a table runner from the ever-greenery in your own backyard! These wood slice candle stands holding mason jars might take a little more effort, but the real the eye-catcher in this table setting are the vintage, oversized jingle bell name card holders!
Using a woven table runner as a base, cottonsnwoolens.blogspot.com lined a rustic wooden box with soft greenery boughs spiked with sprigs of berries and candles for a warm and inviting centerpiece.
Wreath chandeliers, adorned chair backs, and easy-breezy napkin “trees” from Good Housekeeping are only a few of the five-minute ideas you can pull together at the last minute to decorate your dinner table.
INDOOR-OUTDOOR PROJECTS
KitchenFunWithMy3Sons.com has some great Christmas decorating ideas, including lots of outdoor projects like lighted PVC pipe candy canes, hanging Christmas planters, wood pallet Christmas trees, cork wreaths and spindle snowmen! Really fun ideas here!
Dip pinecones in white or gold paint (either partially or all the way) or use a mixture of water, glue and glitter for a sparkle effect. These can go on side tables or use them as ornaments, to fill baskets and bowls, or recombine into wreaths. Check out 55 awesome indoor/outdoor pinecone decorations from DigsDigs.com.
SUPER EASY CREATIVITY
These stemware snow globes from Camilla Fabbri Designs, take brandy glasses and red wine goblets and transform them into double-duty candlesticks!
For a few super-easy decorating ideas, check out PureWow.com’s red berry wreaths on a cake stand full of candles, cinnamon stick candleholders and accent ribbons strategically placed on your favorite tree.
