The complexity of race issues in America extend back as long as the country’s history. This lecture examines a chapter of this history through the unique lens of race in the military during World War II, with the story of the Tuskegee Airmen.

These groups of African American pilots were the first black military aviators in the U.S. armed forces. Come hear their story of struggle and triumph and see how this chapter fits into today’s current conversation about race.
