We’ve Got Your News!
Welcome to Life at the Lake, your online resource for Southshore news!
So much is happening in and around Southshore, we decided to launch our new blog with the latest goings-on in your community and beyond! Plan your week, plan your summer, or just plan dinner!
Our first big news…
The Lakehouse Lift
The Lakehouse is about to get a delightful makeover, both inside and out. The talented folks at BSB Design, Mandil, Inc. and Waner Construction are in the planning stages for renovations this year, with the entire renovation scheduled to be complete by spring of 2017.
While there will be mini-cosmetic changes throughout, here are the ones we guarantee you’ll notice…and love!
The movie theater on the lower level will soon become a yoga/Pilates studio (how’s your Triangle Pose?) and the “kids’ room” will become more arts and crafts-friendly, with new shelves, better lighting, and several handy touches that will make the space brighter and more inviting.
The bar area in the Lake Room will be reimagined as a more fully functioning kitchen area. On the opposite side of the Lakehouse, we’re going to expand the kitchen in the snack bar area and update the eating space.
The library on the top level will become a lounge setting with comfy seating, new paint and accessories.
The deck overlooking the pool area will be getting larger! Plans call for expanding the deck area to give you more room to sit outside and enjoy snacks, drinks and each other’s company while watching poolside activities.
Southshore in Surround Sound
If you listen to Pandora, you might hear us promoting the award-winning community of Southshore! Beginning May 23, we’re letting more people know about lakeside living near Denver and some of the resort-style amenities that are just a rock skip away.
Officially Opened: Farmer’s Market
It’s mid-May and you know what that means! Fresh fruit and veggie stands will be set up every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southlands Farmer’s Market. Stroll through the Town Square from now through September 24th for baked goods, organic and pesticide-free produce, fresh dairy products, herbs, flowers, plants, natural soaps, and much more! (Here’s a veggie recipe your kids will love to help you cook and eat!)
Math Can Be Fun?!?!
Even if you’re not a math whiz, your children can be! On May 31st the last Make Math Fun! workshop of the school year will be offered to kindergartners through fifth graders. With hands-on activities, partner games and math literature, children will practice math skills while having fun.
COST: $35-$40
