Plan The Perfect Valentine’s Date

February 6, 2018

You know, of course, that Valentine’s day is NEXT WEEK, right? If this is news to you, drop what you’re doing and make a plan. There’s still time to think about a dinner date or romantic adventure you’ll both enjoy. And if you’re feeling uninspired, just pick from this list for a super special Valentine’s Day or night (or weekend before!) adventures in love!

Dreamy Dinner and Roses

If you book a table for two at the Bent Fork on E. Illiff in Aurora you can toast your main squeeze with one of the Fork’s amazing martinis (try the chocolate!), then indulge in their fresh, award-winning cuisine. Or if you’re more last-minute than most (and reading this on February 14), check with Open Table to see what’s available in the way of emergency reservations!

The Fresh Flower Market on Parker Road across from the Arapahoe Crossing Shopping Center is expecting lots of red-rose bouquets to fly out the doors over the next week. The market says you can call or stop by to grab and go — or shop online for free delivery.

If we haven’t struck a nerve yet, consider one of the following date ideas to mark this Valentine’s Day with a truly memorable evening!

Let’s Go to the Hop!

This weekend on Saturday, February 10, grab your Valentine and head over to the South Dock at 15120 E. Hampden for an evening of swing. Dry Dock and Swingin’ Denver dance studio are hosting a special Valentine’s Day Sock Hop with free dance lessons (at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.). Be prepared to dance the night away to the group Dixie Leadfoot, and come dressed to swing and compete for the “Best Dressed” and “Best Socks” awards!

Calling All ABBA Fans

ABBA Mania has been delighting ABBA fans of all ages since the tribute group first formed in 1999, selling out UK theaters all over the UK. ABBA Mania is coming to Denver in time for Valentine’s Day so you could spend it singing along to Waterloo and Dancing Queen at Denver’s Oriental Theater. The Grimsby Telegraph calls ABBA Mania “one of the most energetic, uplifting and (most importantly) fun tribute bands” around. Grab a pair of seats for the show at 4335 W. 44th Avenue in Denver, starting at 8:00 p.m.

The Seduction of Scent

Enjoy an unforgettable Valentine’s evening at Scented Studio® at 3437 S. Broadway in Denver with buckets of champagne (ages 21 and over), hors d’oeuvres, chocolates, and other special treats as you come up with your own scent from 22 different designer blends. For $75 per person, the Valentine’s Scented Journey Workshop will help you explore the custom creation of a personal fragrance for perfume (100mL) and a matching scent travel size roll-on. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and not only will you learn a brief history of perfume-making art, you’ll also find your own particular scent personality.

Magical Mutual Massage

If flowers and candy seem too ordinary for a romantic Valentine’s Day celebration, consider a couple’s massage! At Hand and Stone on S. Parker Rd. near Arapahoe Crossing the signature couples’ massage — with or without hot stones — lasts for one delicious hour! The couples’ room is uniquely equipped to deliver side-by-side relaxing, stress-relieving massages for $70 (tip not included) and from all reports, you’ll want to reward these magical masseuses for their efforts!

Core Power Yoga at 18884 E. Hampden is hosting a Thai Yoga Massage class for couples this Saturday, February 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Patty Novak will be guiding this partnered class focusing on creating awareness, openings and space. The cost is $40 per couple and this unique once-a-year class is always a popular event for two!

Adventures in Southshore

Living lakeside at Southshore is an adventure in itself. Nature lovers delight in the miles of walking and biking paths, and the birds and geese that make the grasslands around the reservoir their winter home. Stop in to see the models at the master-planned community from Toll Brothers, Richmond American Homes and Century Communities, three of Colorado’s top builders. It’s life at the lake, in both ranch and two-story designs, prices between the upper $300s and the $700s.
