Thanksgiving Races, Shopping and Shows!

Thanksgiving weekend is all about family, food…and shopping! There are plenty of ways to get in some quality family time—from a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning to Black Friday events at Southlands (with free Santa photo opps) to wonderful holiday-themed shows the entire family will love, all weekend long!

TODAY/TONIGHT, November 28

Start Turkey Day with an energizing 5K or 10K run! The Stanley Harvesting Hope Turkey Trot offers race opportunities for the entire family—dogs, strollers and wheelchairs are welcome, and there’s even a FREE kids fun run! All proceeds will be donated to charity!

The race course will take you on paths through the Stapleton neighborhood, including Central Park, Sand Creek, and Westerly Creek. You’ll receive a T-shirt, swag bag, professionally-timed results, free race photos, and a free adult beverage if you’re 21 or over. ALL attendees can enjoy free entertainment, food, and coffee!

Everyone’s favorite modern holiday classic, Home Alone is even better when the Colorado Symphony plays along! Watch this heartwarming and hilarious film screened in its entirety while the symphony plays John Williams’ charming and delightful score live!

Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year-old boy who’s accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation and who must defend his home against two bungling burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). It’s holiday fun for the entire family!

Camp Christmas is sure to become a favorite holiday tradition for you and your family! This over-the-top immersive installation is filled with everything that makes the holiday season sparkle. Decorations, light-shows, and crazy “what-if” scenarios will have you thinking about the holidays in an entirely new way!

A mash-up of history and pop culture, Camp Christmas is the only place you will find Santa-fied ancient Roman festivals or Marie Antoinette at the helm of a Rococo sled. While perfect for all ages, older kids and teenagers will especially appreciate this “outside the box” approach to the holiday rituals that humanity has been going through for thousands of years.

Creativity thrives in the family, and this psychedelic indie rock and blues driven band is proof.
